Mohamed Salah Joins Fernando Torres In Premier League Fastest 50 Goals

Mohamed Salah became the fourth fastest player to 50 Premier League goals during Liverpool’s enthralling 4-3 win over Crystal Palace.

Jurgen Klopp ’s side moved seven points clear at the top of the table, ahead of Manchester City’s visit to Huddersfield on Sunday, after a rousing second-half comeback.
Roy Hodgson’s side put a significant dent in City’s title hopes last month and were on track to cause another major upset when Andros Townsend’s goal gave the visitors a deserved half-time lead.

Salah, however, restored parity less than a minute into the second period and Roberto Firmino turned the game on its head just eight minutes later.
A thumping James Tomkins header levelled matters in the 65th minute before a dreadful Julian Speroni error gifted Liverpool the lead and Salah his 50th Premier League goal in just his 72nd appearance, matching the record of former Reds striker Fernando Torres.

Sadio Mane wrapped up the win late on but there was still time for Max Meyer to cause a few anxious moments after he reduced the deficit in injury time.
Reacting to Salah’s exploits, Klopp said: ‘He’s world class. Simply world class.

La Liga President Welcomes Jose Mourinho To La Liga.

La Liga President Javier Tebas has said former Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is welcomed should he decide to make a return to the Spanish topflight.

Mourinho ended Barcelona’s three-year dominance of La Liga under Pep Guardiola by guiding Real Madrid to the title in the 2011-12 season, and is remembered fondly at the Bernabeu.

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez reportedly wants Mourinho to return to the club, despite appointing Santiago Solari as head coach until 2021. “It would not be a bad thing for La Liga,” Tebas told Catalan radio station RAC1, when asked about a potential return to Spain for Mourinho.

“He is a fantastic coach who has many qualities and it would be a great spectacle, it would be fantastic to have him here, but who knows what club would it be.” Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar has also been linked with a return to La Liga at either Barcelona or Real Madrid.
